A relative newcomer to our programme of community events, the beer festival is quickly becoming a firm favourite with local people. Taking place in Lymm Village Hall over a Friday and Saturday in early September, the event offers 20+ carefully sourced ales and ciders for sale, good hearty grub courtesy of Lymm Ladies Circle along with live music and a quiz.
There are opportunities for local businesses to support the Festival by sponsoring the entire event or a barrel of beer. Funds are also raised by the revenue generated from a small entry fee and very reasonably priced beer and food.
The event was the brainchild of the then Lymm and District Round Table chairman Chris Stephens who put a great deal of effort into getting the inaugural Festival up-and-running in 2011. From that point it was clear that this was something that the village would embrace and – at the time of writing – the Lymm Beer Festival looks set to be a date pencilled in on many people’s social diaries for years to come!
