THE local community turned out in force once again to support Lymm and District Round Table’s customary charity bonfire, sponsored by Kids Planet Nursery, raising an impressive £6,500 in the process.
This year, families were treated to two fireworks displays at the busy event held at Lymm Rugby Club – including one earlier display especially for the children – along with a range of food and refreshments. There was also the return of the popular designated area for disabled people and their carers.
Bonfire organiser and Round Table member Mike O’ Crowley said: “It was another great bonfire event and we’re particularly pleased to have raised so much given the number of other local displays also held on that evening.
“It was a bitterly cold night so it was great to see so many people come for both the earlier children’s display and the main display – their support will go towards helping out a charity or community group in need. A big thank you must also go out to the volunteers who helped to run the stalls too including Lymm Ladies Circle and Lymm Lions.”
